if you want people to perform their very best, and be believable when they promote your product/ideas, then make sure that they themselves BELIEVE, that what they are saying is the truth.

it doesn’t matter if what you lead them to believe is actually true. what is important is that they believe it is true for then they will speak with the believability of one who is certain that they speak the absolute truth.

truth itself tends to be relative anyway. after all, the enemy is the good guy from their own perspective, and you the enemy. each side tends to be sure of its rightness and the others wrongness.

and yet more often than not, it turns out, if we explore this further, we find that what we actually have, is people that have been convinced, by people who have been convinced, and believe what they are saying is true. god is on our side.

of course somewhere at the top you have the start of it. the one who realizes the need to convince and manipulate.

i’m not saying this is bad. i’m just saying this is how it is.

delusion vs calculated lies.

well what can really be said of this?

delusion: on one hand the beginning is set by one who has for one reason or another become convinced in their own right of something that defys rational thought and then proceeds to attempt to convince others of their vision. in its own way i feel this at least has much more potential for honor than the next on our list.

calculated lies: politics.

i’m not saying that all politicians are corrupt. i’m just saying that the field does seem to attract a lot that would fall into the category.
